Jayson jumped alone this time into the darkness and unfamiliar territory with limited knowledge how to do what Julia had practiced. He literally bounced back and forth from house to house anxiously looking to find the right place. It took awhile, but he found, according to Julia, the other side of the quarter instead of going around the outside ridges. He finally understood her analogy. Chess was waiting for his return as anxiously as Jay was awaiting the arrival to the other side. He already missed Jess. He already missed their bed. Her smell. Her warmth and her forgiveness even though she still fought the sadness.
He sat at the table with Chess and described to him all he'd learned from Julia. He explained Julia had a plan, one she and Tavin had devised together. She'd handed over the diaries. "She was going to, she just never knew when." Chess admitted. "She tells me stuff Jay. I watched her write all that and think constantly last time she was with us. She's been trying to come up with a way to get us out of here. Fix your mistakes. It's not about her. It's always been about you, helping you. You shouldn't be mad at her."
"My mistakes. She's trying to fix my mistakes."
"Not Caleb. She could give a fuck less about Caleb Downing. It's about us. Me and you and Hay and Andy. That's all. She feels guilt there." Chess explained. "Did you know she's not going back if this doesn't work? Whatever she has in her head, if it doesn't work, she's staying here. I don't know how she'll do it, but she's staying."
"It's possible. I just lived it." Jay assured him.
"I'll stay wherever she wants me. And she wants me here now. So I don't wanna know about how to jump or travel or whatever you call it."
"You just do as she says."
"You knew her the best and the longest, but I figured out she's usually right. I don't know why you can't."
Chess got up to go back to bed. "You know, the infection's real now? It's there. She took it there. From here. Just remember that before you quit talking to her and delete her from your life. You might need her one day." Chess head back to bed and waited for her to come to him.
Julia's dad was pissed when she arrived home well after 5am. He'd called her and she hadn't answered. He was seeing all kinds of red when Tavin brought her home from wherever they'd been. He'd sat up all night, listening to the noises in the basement and trying to pretend they weren't there at all.
"I know you're mad, but-"
"You have no idea how mad I am. Where have you two been?" Cal screamed at Tavin like he was his dad too.
"We-uh-"
"Uh-what?" Cal yelled. "Where were you?"
"We went for Jess. She called and we went and picked her up." Julia answered.
"Jess is home? Where was she?"
"She was with a guy and it didn't work out."
"A guy?"
"A boyfriend, yeah."
"Who's the boyfriend?"
"I don't know. We just picked her up, dad. She called and we went."
"We took her home." Tavin said.
"And you couldn't answer the phone when I called? You couldn't call before you left?"
"The phone died. She called and we went." Julia replied.
"Why would she call you?"
"Um- because he drives." Julia answered, motioning to Tavin.
She could see her father wasn't buying any of this, but it was useless arguing or screaming as long as she was home in one piece. Cal was also frazzled at the fact that he believed the house was haunted. He rambled about noises in the basement and not having a clue what it was. He'd gone looking numerous times. He mentioned he had an exterminator coming to look over the basement.
"Exterminator?" Julia smiled. "I would stay outta that basement if I were you."
"Yeah, it's an ugly presence." Tavin agreed.
"You're aware of this as well?"
"Sure, we're not deaf." Julia nodded. "You know who it is right?"
"Jayson?"
"No." She replied, shaking her head. "He's pretty pissed off about the books. But he'll stay down there. I had a talk with him."
"Julia, that's insane."
"Did you think Jayson shot us? Me? It was him, dad. He is with us, haunting us. Jayson held the gun, but he pulled the trigger."
"No, no. That's bullshit. That's-"
"Don't try to understand it, just let that soak in and realize it's only temporary. You'll understand soon, daddy. I promise." Julia said calmly. "Can I ask you a question?"
"Sure. What?"
"Who found me and Jayson? In the basement? Who found us?"
"I did."
"Why did it take you so long to get to the basement?"
"What?" He asked her, confused.
"What took you so long to get to the basement, dad? If you were in the house, then why did it take you three gunshots to get down the basement?"
"I-uh-I don't remember."
"Well think." Julia said loudly. "There was the first gun shot, which should have scared you to death. Even if you were asleep, dad, it would have woken you up. After the first gunshot, there was a lot of noise. It was very physical, we fought, there was an argument. He grabbed me by my throat and he threw me into the dresser, then onto the bed. It was noisy. I was screaming. He was screaming at me. He shot me the second time. Then the third gun shot a couple minutes later when he shot himself. Where were you?"
"Here." He answered, "Watching a ball game."
"Julia, stop it." Tavin said.
"No." She looked at Tavin, then back to her father. "Why didn't you come after the first shot was fired? It was practically below you. What happened up here?"
"I couldn't move."
"Why?"
"I was being held down."
"By what?" She asked.
"Julia, enough." Tavin warned her.
"You'll understand soon enough. Just think about it." Julia said, wheeling past him to her room.
Cal stood almost shocked, hypnotized, trying to remember that afternoon. He stared dumbfounded at Tavin.
"What's she talking about, Tavin? I know you know."
"It's a long ass fucking story. Just let her show you. Mind if I crash here? I'm tired. It's been a long night."
"Sure, go ahead." Cal nodded, motioning to the sofa. "What's she going to show me?"
"She'll show you when she thinks you're ready." Tavin said, curling upon the sofa.
Cal climbed the steps to his room and went to bed.
When Cal awoke he sat at a long table in a strange house with Tavin at the head of the table. Tavin told him to wait.
Julia woke next to Chess, clutching the papers that Tavin had copied to her chest. She nudged him awake. "Hey, Chess."
"Hey, baby. I missed you."
"Mmm, me too." She said, dropping her plan over the side of the bed to the floor. She pulled him to her. "I'm horny." She breathed, shimmying her shorts down.
"You're moving."
"Some things have changed. You wanna talk or you wanna fuck?" She asked, letting him fall between her legs.
Jayson pulled Jess to him. He'd tried earlier without any luck, but this time she came to him. "I miss you already." She cried.
When Kelly appeared beside Tavin, he sat her down and told her to call Hayley. He took Kelly's little hand in his and told her to close her eyes and concentrate and find Hayley. Kelly concentrated. "Not here. She's gone." Kelly said.
"Try again. Find her."
"Who's that?" Kelly asked, looking to Cal.
"Julia's dad." Tavin replied.
"Hi, I'm Kelly." She smiled at him.
"Hello. Where are we?"
"The farmhouse." Kelly answered. "What's taking them so long?"
"As if you have to ask." Tavin answered.
"So you're Julia's dad. Why are you here?" She asked.
"He told me to wait."
"Oh, you're dreaming." Kelly said. "First time, right?"
Cal shrugged, unsure of what to say. He gazed at Kelly trying unsuccessfully to make contact with Hayley, when they heard more voices and people approaching from the living room. Julia and Chess rounded the corner to the table. "Dad, hi." She smiled, setting the papers on the table she'd brought with her. She looked at Kelly. "Any luck with Hay?" Kelly shook her head no. "Read over the plan and see if you two can find any of these girls." She showed Chess and Kelly the list of names and the details she'd written about the angels. Julia led her dad into the living room and they stood near the sofa. "Any of this familiar yet?" Julia asked him.
"No."
"I know you've been reading my other books." Julia informed him.
"All your notes? I thought you were writing short stories."
"No, dad." She replied. She led him to the addition and through to Tom's room. He lay sleeping in his bed. She motioned for him to stay quiet. "Look familiar?"
"The ramps." He nodded.
Julia turned and walked to another room, opening that door quietly. Andy lay asleep on his bed. Rey at his side. "He's grown up a lot." Cal observed.
"We all have here." Julia said softly, pulling the door closed.
"Where are we?"
"Home." She answered, leading him back downstairs.
She knocked on Jay's door and told him to meet her outside. She and Cal made their way through the living room, past the table and to the kitchen. He studied what he saw. She took him outside to the yard and he saw Ellen's car, the Prius, looking pretty banged up.
"This is the house from the notebooks."
"One of them, yes." Julia nodded as they waited. The back door opened and Jay descended the steps with Jess.
"You brought your dad here, Jules?" Jay asked, stepping beside her. "It never cease to amaze me what you'll do. Why?"
"Because he knows the truth. I told him about Caleb. He read the books."
"He turned them in." He said, understanding that it hadn't been Julia.
"Jess, go inside." Julia ordered. Jess hesitated, but complied.
Julia took Jayson's hand and they walked together around their yard. She and Jay felt comfortable showing him the farm. As dawn approached and the darkness became lighter, he saw the field and the crops. He saw their work and he knew they'd done that. The still. The weed, he laughed not surprised and the clearing they'd fenced in. The barn and the animals as they made their noise when they entered. Julia carried the lamp and showed him around with Jayson explaining along the way, giving up a few details. Back outside they viewed the house, sparsely lighted, except for the table. The small crowd of people gathered and worked and read the notes. Tavin explaining what Julia had planned.
"This is real, Julia?"
"This is our home." Jay answered him. "We lived a couple places, but this we built. Made a life here."
"You didn't shoot them."
"It's complicated." Had been all Jay could answer.
"She told me what she could." Cal said to him.
"I wanted to show you our house, dad. In case what we have to do fails. I wanted you to know that we'll all be ok and that we're all together and we're safe, you know." Julia explained.
"What are you going to do?"
"I am trying to fix what broke. I'm not sure it'll work. But if it doesn't, we're all going to be here. I'm going to stay here. With him and with them. The person you'll be left with, she'll be me and hopefully a more agreeable and nicer version of me." Julia explained. "You won't understand till Kelly shows you. That's why she's here tonight. Come sit and listen." They went to the porch and through the front door. Cal took a seat and Julia had Kelly sit adjacent to him and take his hands in hers like she did for Hayley at the first house on Green Street.
"What do you see, Kelly?"
"A little red haired baby." Kelly laughed.
"Dad, take her to the day we were shot. What happened?"
"I don't remember." Cal said.
"Kelly, what do you see?"
"The same guy. I see him, but your dad doesn't. He knew your dad from the bar where he picked up Susie-Q. Who's Susie-Q, Julia?"
"A girl he killed."
"Well he's there in the living room. He's trying to get out of the chair, but he can't. The creepy guy is there. He's everywhere. It's the books. He's attached to the books. He doesn't like you or Jay. You're too close to her, always with her and watching her and keeping him from her. He won't let you go to the basement. You can't have her and neither can Jayson and neither can Tavin. He held you back till after the third shot. He made him listen. He like showed your dad what happened somehow, like flashing images at him while it was happening. He's everywhere all at once." Kelly left him go, withdrew her hands from his. "He's still in the basement. You've heard him there. He watches you, Julia. He watches when you sleep, he touches you down there, but you can't feel it. He watches you bathe and dress and-do you stick like tubes inside you for some reason?"
"Yeah, I know what you mean." Julia nodded. Julia looked at Cal. "Go home."
"What are you sticking up there?" Kelly asked, watching Cal fade away.
"Kell," Tavin called, shaking his head at her.
"Every six or eight hours, depends. It's how I pee. I have some bladder issues since...it's medical. Nothing weird." Julia answered as they all stared at her. "What? I learned it at the hospital. It's totally legit."
"And I am not going to kill him again?" Jayson asked. "He's still stalking you, touching you, watching you."
"That's the part of this fucking plan I don't agree with." Chess agreed. "He doesn't deserve mercy."
"He does. It may be the only mercy he ever had in his life. Have you all ever considered he may be just as trapped as the rest of us? Longer than us? Kelly said the darkness is him. Maybe this isn't Jay's creation? Maybe it's his? See this is the kind of stuff I think about. But we need to get him out of our lives and there's only one way to possibly do that. Any luck with the angels?"
"Amanda is closest to us." Kelly answered. "When she gets here, she can help us gather the others."
"Kelly, come with me. Chess, show Jay the list and see if you get anything."
Julia led Kelly back through the kitchen and escorted her through the yard to the clearing to the graves below the willow tree. The white wooden crosses lay on top of each grave of the only two people they lost. Julia took hold of Kelly's hand and they knelt on the ground above Hayley and Kevin.
"He's alive." Kelly said, reading his name on the cross. "He's alive somewhere near here."
"He's in prison." Julia said.
"No, he's not. Not anymore. He can take care of himself." Kelly said. "She's with him. She's stuck on him, like she's with him where he is."
"Does he know her? Aware of her."
"Yes." Kelly said. "You need to talk to him. He has to send her back here."
"Makes sense." Julia nodded.
"They were together, they loved each other a lot here. He was trying to protect her here. She left part of herself here. She's not completely gone."
"Well, she's Hannah's mom, Kelly."
"Yeah. She is."
Julia said, "Can we pull Kevin here? Like you and Tavin? Or does Tavin need to go see him?"
"Julia, ooh, she's not stupid. She jumped once, that's why she died here."
"She's piggybacking Kevin. Where is Kevin?"
"Where is Kevin from?"
"God dammit, there's always a problem with every plan and this is it." Julia cursed. "Kev's from Philly. I need my books, the originals. I have his info."
Julia and Kelly went back across the clearing to the addition and went inside to Julia and Chess's room. She pulled out the original books from their box and started flipping through the pages till she found Kevin's information. Julia took everything down back then. Names and addresses, family stuff. It was all a ledger to remember their story. She jotted his info down and tucked it into her pocket. They had one final trip to make on the flip side. To meet and talk to Kevin.
"When are we doing this?" Chess asked.
"We need as many angels as possible. Are they coming? Amanda's closest."
"Do you expect them to make it through this to here."
"Tell them to get as close as possible and we'll go get them."
"Julia, this plan is impossible."
"Not at the end, Tavin. And there's another problem that we have to deal with at home before we can do anything here."
"I can't see that this is going to work." Tavin complained.
"You aren't used to our plans. There's always issues with our plans and we work it out and we keep going. It takes all of us together. I can't do it alone."
"Is there an alternative?" Chess asked. "You two came up with this."
"I am ok with the alternative." Julia said, sitting on Chess's lap.
"What's the alternative plan? Is it easier?"
"Yeah. A lot easier."
"That's not a choice I want to make right now, Julia." Tavin said, holding onto Kelly.
"What's the alternative?" Chess and Jay demanded to know.
"Pull the living here, throw the carbon copies home and we stay. Simple as that."
"Or we jump, all of us and live there." Jay said.
"You saw how that worked. Anonymous and separate. The point is so we can all be together. Not living separate and alone."
"This is too much work."
"That's what you said when you first saw this place, and here we are. You couldn't see the vision till I talked you into it." Julia said. "We have a window of time with them digging up the bodies. It's our best shot. Unless you wanna go it alone. We could do that too. The three of us and leave Hayley behind. We could go now, if that's what you want. Are we strong enough? Are we as strong as the darkness?"
"Strong as the darkness, Jules?"
"I was willing to die when I thought it was you killing me. I was ready for whatever simple reasons you chose. But learning it wasn't you-not so much."
"This is part one." Chess announced, looking at the top of the pages. "What's part two?"
"Oh, I take one for the team. He takes me all over again. The whole history repeating itself thing."
"What if he kills you?"
"That's where you come in and the angels."
"No. That's crazy. No." Jay said, pushing the papers away from them toward Julia. "Just stay here."
"I have never seen a bigger bunch of pussies in my life." Julia whined, throwing the papers up in the air. She walked away and back to her room. She was pissed. None of them got it. None.
Julia watched the news, watched as the graves continued to be unearthed, as body bags were carried to waiting medical examiner vans. She had the paper in her hand with Kevin's name written on it. Anderson Cooper detailed the news events of the day. "Anderson, do I have a story for you." Julia sighed. She never felt so alone and disappointed. What a group of misfits she'd put together. What happened to them? Sheltered. Comfortable. No fear. As the basement noises stirred up, Julia picked up her cell and nearly called Officer Ripkin. There was no way in the world he'd help her find Kevin. She opened up her Facebook and typed in Kevin's name in the search engine. No one matching Kevin's description popped up. Her Google search yielded the same information that she held in her hand. Previous address. She needed to get to Philly. She decided to give Tavin one last chance before she took things into her own hands. She would if she had to.
She texted him: I'm going to find Kevin.
She set down her phone and looked at her backpack. She'd been ready to go for a few days now. Had researched what bus and how long and how much money it would cost. She called Jesslyn.
"Jess, I need some money." Julia said.
"How much?"
She told Jess where she was going and what she was going to do. "You're going alone?"
"I can."
"I'll go with you. I'll be there." She said.
Jess believed in the plan. She needed to believe in the plan as much as Julia. The plan gave them hope where they didn't usually have any.
Julia texted Tavin again: Jess and I are going to find Kevin. In Philadelphia.
Tavin texted back: where in philly?
Julia texted: sounds very pretty...strawberry mansion.
Tavin: nooooooo, google street view that shit
Julia imagined fields of strawberries. When she finally did street view it, she became nervous. He lived across from the deli on the corner of 26th and York.
Julia: asked you for help...you're the street thug
Tavin: not anymore
Julia: drug addict looks for drug dealer on the corner of 26th and York...
Tavin: you OWE me
"Where do you two think you're going?" Cal asked as Jess and Julia head toward the door.
"Field trip with Tavin."
"Where?"
"We're looking for a guy named Kevin." Julia replied.
"Kevin?"
"An old friend."
"Where is Kevin?"
"York." Julia answered, which wasn't too far away and no where near where they were heading.
Cal let them go and they waited for Tavin out side by the street. York was safe. 26th and York in Philly was a mystery. Julia googled strawberry mansion and she read to Jess aloud where they were going.
"Are you trying to talk me out of this?" Jess asked, looking at the article that Julia saw on her screen. "Sounds dangerous, Julia."
"Why do you think I wanted him to do this?" Julia asked. "Two white girls in the hood, one in a wheel chair. How out of place are we going to look?"
"Very." Jess said nervously. "Did you bring your gun or something from zombie land?"
Julia laughed. "No seriously, I survived zombies and I can survive the hood."
"I can't believe you were going there alone. We were going there alone. On a bus."
"We would have been ok."
"And you know this how?"
"Cause Hayley watches over him, remember? So she'll watch over us."
The inner city, crumbling infrastructure, boarded buildings. Streets littered with trash and pot holes. Persons standing on corners, just hanging around. The streets of Philly were tight and crowded. Navi led them to 26th and York and Tavin was angry. Angry that he was led there by these 2 girls, angry that he let them manipulate him into going there, angry that the traffic through the city on the highway was at a standstill. Angry that these people flipped him off a zillion times. Angry that these tight streets didn't allow for 2 cars on some of them. He was just angry all afternoon. Was he trying to put himself in a frame of mind that he had worked to leave behind? Is Pittsburgh a walk in the park compared to Philly? The girls had never been to either place.
"What do we do when we get there?" Tavin asked, knowing a stranger knocking on a dealer's door wasn't a great idea. You just don't get out of your car and knock on doors. You really shouldn't get out of your car. He'd had guns in his face before.
"Knock on his door."
"It doesn't work that way, Julia." He cautioned her.
"I'll do it."
Tavin found a spot to wedge the suburban and he got out. "If you get me killed, Julia."
"You'll be ok. Just trust me. I wish we had Kelly." Julia said, but bringing Kelly was completely out of the question. The girls had been warned. Don't talk to anyone. Just wait in the car. Don't roll your window down for anyone. If anyone tried to get in, call 911.
"They are not animals, Tavin. Gosh." Jess whined.
"Closer than you think, Jesslyn." He looked to Julia. "What am I supposed to say to the guy?"
"Ask about Hay. That's the reason we're here. Tell him to let her go."
"That's just fucking strange." Tavin mumbled.
"Buy us some pot, then. Christ, he deals drugs."
The girls watched him walk away from the vehicle. Julia could see how she and Jess would not blend into the environment. They were a long way from home and their safe little community. Jess sat hiding in the back seat. Cops on patrol rolled by, which didn't make them feel any safer. In their neighborhood, in Maverick, they never saw cops. But Tavin could easily blend in here. His skin color probably helped him out some.
"I don't like this, Julia. Where is he?"
"He's only been gone a few minutes." Julia reminded her.
"You think he's scared to be here?"
"No. I'm not and if I could walk, I would have already been here."
They waited. And waited. Julia wanted to get out, feeling the need to seek out her other half on this mission of theirs. Jess cautioned her against that idea. Broad daylight. Heat. Humidity. Julia felt like a puppy in a hot car left by its owner. Julia watched out the window, feeling like she was on a stake out. She saw Tavin walking back down her side of the street and looking down talking. She pointed him out to Jess.
"Jess,"
"He's talking to a black guy alright."
"A short one?" Julia stretched looking over the dashboard.
"No," Jess said. "Wait till you see."
Tavin hit the button on the car remote and unlocked the doors. Julia flung the door open and then swiveled herself sideways, dangling her legs over the edge of the seat. "Kevin," Julia gasped, looking down at him. He sat in his wheelchair, looking up at her. "Holy shit."
"You're Julia." He said.
"I am."
"Tavin, what's going on?" Julia asked as he pulled her chair out of the back of the suburban. He opened it up next to Kevin and he lifted her out of the truck. She was sitting on Kevin's level now.
"Nice wheels." Kevin said, looking at her chair.
"You too." Julia smiled. His chair was black, sleek, fast.
"Go with him. He has what you want." Tavin said, leaning against the truck in the July heat.
"He's got weed?"
"I got that too, J. Let's roll." Kevin said, swiveling his chair in the direction from which he'd come with Tavin.
"No, Jess. Hang back." Tavin told her.
"You are prettier than on TV." Kevin told her as he moved quickly ahead of her. Julia tried to keep up with him.
"Well, thanks. I guess." Julia replied.
At the corner deli, they waited for the light to turn so they could cross and a handful of black kids, all shades, fell beside them and walked along with the chairs to Kevin's place. He opened the door to the building and there was a huge flight of steps.
"We climbing?" Julia asked.
"We riding." He answered. "See the chair?"
"Oh, shit. That's awesome. I never been in one."
"Hop on it and push the button. Send it back down."
Julia shifted out of her chair onto the seat inside the door. Kevin folded her chair and sat it in the doorway. Julia rode the flight of stairs and pulled herself out and sat on the floor. She sent the chair back to the entrance. When Kevin rode to the top, he plopped on the floor next to her.
"Come on, T." Kevin called, pointing to the chairs. The two of them scooted to the apartment door and waited for T with the chairs. T was a massive black man in his 20's. Broad shoulders, all muscle. His face had seen better days, scarred across the right cheek. T opened up their wheels, grabbed Julia beneath her arm pits and pulled her back into her chair. "Thanks," She said, thinking she could have managed all on her own. He left them, going back down the long flight of stairs. Kevin hoisted himself back into his own chair and unlocked the door to the apartment. He rolled inside and Julia followed, pushing the door closed behind her.
"Wow, this is a nice place, Kevin." Julia smiled, looking at the renovated wheel chair accessible apartment. Everything was geared to her height. She could reach everything. "Oh, I wanna live here." She smiled, "This is so awesome."
"You ain't the only white chick that wants to live here." Kevin said, pushing open his bedroom door.
"You jumped," Julia said, taking in Hayley sitting by the window, looking out over the street.
"I jumped." Hayley answered. "So you're taking me home?"
"Yeah. I'm taking you home."
"I didn't expect to jump into Philly." Hayley complained. "I was aiming for Hawaii."
"You were a little off. How long have you been here?"
"Too long." Kevin complained, wheeling to her and pulling her onto his lap. His hand went under the silky robe that she wore.
"I'll be back, daddy." Hayley promised, kissing him on his cheek.
"Oh, my God." Julia mumbled. "Do all your parts like work?" She asked Kevin.
"Oh, yes. They do." Hayley smiled at him.
"Get yo ass dressed." He set her on her feet and led Julia out to the kitchen where he got a coffee container from the top of his fridge. "How much you want, redhead?"
"A cup I guess."
"Weed. You want a cup of weed?"
"Oh, all of it." She laughed.
Kevin handed over the container and fired up a joint. "Take what you want."
Julia took a few bags and the container back. She tucked the baggies in her bra. She then took the joint. She took a long hit. "You really want her back?"
"That's my girl. She takes care of me."
"I'll bring her back, then." Julia nodded. "What happened?"
"Same thing that happened to you."
Hayley came out of the bedroom dressed like a hoochie mama. Shorts too short, crop top too cropped. Heels. She was more covered in her robe.
"What the hell?"
"It's what he likes."
"Oh, Hayley." Julia laughed. "It's just different is all."
"I'm different." Hayley said, taking the joint. "So how's the guys doing?"
"The guys are fine."
"Are you still fucking all of them?"
"No." Julia answered.
"Do all your parts work?" Kevin asked, looking her over.
"Yeah, they do." Julia replied to Kevin. "You ready, Hayley? There's a lot of catching up we need to do."
"Bring her back. We're gonna go to Hawaii."
"I will. You'll get her and this outfit back. Promise." Julia said.
"T will get you back to the truck." Kevin told her. He gave Hay a kiss and a slap on the ass goodbye.
"See you soon, daddy." She cooed.
First there was Hayley, then there was fat Hayley, and now there's hooker Hayley. As Kevin had said, T made sure they got back to the suburban.
The longest ride home from 26th and York with hooker Hayley and her long story about 'daddy'. Whatever made Hayley happy, Julia supposed. What relationship was normal anymore? Julia's married through time to Chess. Tavin married through time to Kelly, who were in a super secretive relationship at home. Jay was hooked up with Jess through time and space. Then hooker Hayley with drug dealer Kevin who had her dressing like a Halloween slut, in heels no less.
They took Jess home first, after stopping at the CVS for her drugs.
"It's melatonin. It makes me go to sleep." She said.
"Ok, well, fine."
"I take them all day and I stay with him as much as I can."
"Oh, well that's weird. Jess, stop that."
"I'm greedy." She shrugged. "See you later."
Tavin dropped Hayley and Julia off at home with a bag of Jess's normal clothes because Julia's clothes would be too small. Hayley went inside first and was told to stay out of the basement. Tavin helped Julia down and into her chair.
"What the hell is up with the outfit?" Tavin asked, watching Hayley as she walked away. "She's so hot dressed like that."
"She looks like a hooker."
"A hot ass fucking hooker. Damn." Tavin said. "You owe me."
"I know." Julia laughed. "Thanks for helping me."
"Always. Love you." He said, kissing her forehead. "See you later?"
"Yeah, later."
At that moment Cal stepped outside, possibly having a heart attack at the sight of his house guest. "It's ok, dad. She won't be here long."
"Where'd she come from?"
"26th and York in Philly." Julia answered. "Don't ask."
"Don't ask? How'd she get there? Julia, this is not possible."
"Ok, then you're in a bad dream."
"Bad dream needs to put some clothes on."
"I think we finally found something we agree about, daddy."
As long as Hayley had internet connection and an iPad, she was happy. She and Kevin were face timing and as Julia tried to fall asleep, she saw Hayley doing obscene things to herself that 'daddy' just loved to watch.
"Julia, come here." Hayley said, motioning her to move closer.
"Hayley, I think you'd be better off upstairs. Like in your own room."
"No, silly," Hayley said in her 'daddy' voice. Hayley scooted over in the bed next to Julia. She had no qualms about sitting nude in her presence. "I know you like girls."
"I don't do that stuff anymore, Hay. A lot has changed." Julia said. "I'm like married."
Hayley held the iPad up and she and Julia's faces appeared in the chat box. Julia saw more of Kevin than she'd ever wanted to. "Wow," Julia gasped, looking at Kevin's dick on the screen. "I thought Chess was big. God Damn."
"They come bigger than Chess, Jules."
"I would never ever, ever let that loose near me. Christ almighty." Julia said. "How's it begin to fit in there?"
Hay sat next to Julia and spread her legs, revealing a completely shaved crotch. Her fingers touched around her hairless man cave and she pulled Julia's hand to her. Julia hadn't touched a pussy in ages and this was uncharted territory. She didn't know whether to get her off or get out of bed. She never wanted to touch Hayley there in any way shape or form and all she thought about was Jayson touching her there. As Julia fingered Hayley, her hand getting damper and damper, she said, "I usually use 2 hands for this. And you're not supposed to be sitting up. Have you ever been with a girl, Hay?"
"Redhead, get in there." Kevin called over the internet.
"This would be easier if you were here and not on an iPad." Julia said. "And if I could get on my knees."
"Fucking bullets fuck your shit up." Kevin added to the conversation.
"Gimme a minute to think." Julia said, taking her hand back. "Hay, lay down." Julia watched Hayley lay down and Julia moved so she sat between Hayley's very wide spread legs. "Very pretty. I like the no hair thing." Julia said. "There's a few rules. She doesn't touch me and my clothes stay on."
Julia went to work, familiarizing herself with the layout, Hayley's personal landscape. Jay had been right, she was loose. One of those hot dog in a hallway scenarios. No wonder she went big. She had no choice. The more she fingered, poked, rubbed, prodded, she wondered how pissed off Chess was going to get. She wondered why she was even doing this in the first place.
"Magic fingers." Hayley smiled, when she finally turned off the fucking iPad. She set the iPad on the bed and sat up. She kissed Julia out of no where. She got to her knees and told Julia to do it again.
"Um, Hay, honey, I shouldn't have done that much."
"It's only pussy. It doesn't count." Hayley told her. "Want me to touch you?"
"No." Julia shook her head. "I can't feel it."
"Neither can he." Hayley said, kissing her again. "Can you do me then?"
"Um, Hayley, I'd love to, but-"
"Julia, can you do me then?"
"You're awful pushy, Hay." Julia whined. "Why?"
"If your fingers can do that, then what can your tongue do?"
"A lot." Julia replied. "This is a lot of work."
"For you. Not me." Hayley giggled, spreading her legs to Julia again.
"Well, it is a pretty pussy." Julia admitted, touching her again.
"Put your hair up. Have fun with me."
Julia finally crossed over, feeling horny and guilty. Hayley was all work and no fun. Left her wet and unsatisfied. She got out of her bed and found Jay first with Hannah asleep on his chest.
"Hey, where's my Chess?"
"He's on a run in the Prius with Andy and Rey. You're early. What's up?"
"Fuck. Fuck. Nothing." She answered. "I need him."
"I can see that. What's wrong? You look guilty as fuck."
"I feel guilty as fuck. I feel so dirty, but it was so good. Like eating a peach. A juicy, ripe and drippy peach, Jayson."
"Who?"
"Hayley. I-we-found Hayley. I have her at home."
Jay started laughing at her. "You were in bed with her? She's the peach."
"Oh, Jayson. I'm in trouble. He's gonna be mad at me."
"Nah, he'll be alright with it."
"But the pussy was there and I like pussy."
"Pussy doesn't count." Jay told her. "Really, 1 pussy or 50. It doesn't count, Julia. Trust me. Did she do you?"
"No. I wouldn't feel her if she tried." Julia frowned.
"Hey, we have some visitors." Jay said.
Julia walked through the kitchen door and spied at least 10 girls, all young and all new to their farmhouse. Julia had seen all of them rather intimately, all parts of them. These girls all had clothes on and most were in a fragile state of mind.
"Hello." Julia said to them. "Which one of you is Amanda?"
"I am Amanda." She said, stepping forward.
"Good to meet you. I am Julia. I called you here."
"Where are we?"
"Go inside, sit at the table and we'll get started soon." They stared and stayed still. "Girls, you're safe. The boys won't hurt you." They stood still. "You realize that you're all dead and that you cannot be harmed right?"
"We're dead?" Amanda asked, confused.
Jayson stood in the kitchen doorway with Hannah. "They're not aware, Julia."
"Call Kelly, will you? She's got a lot of memories to sift through."
"Too early for Kelly."
"Put the baby to bed, then."
Julia lured the girls into the house and had her papers sitting on the table with her plan and her other books she needed when Chess came back with 2 more girls. Their downstairs had started to fill up. Julia played the welcome wagon part miserably, feeding them snacks and giving them water to drink. The girls slowly started to talk amongst each other, where they hailed from, their families, their lives before the farmhouse.
Chess brought the 2 newcomers inside and Julia showed them to the table with the others.
"Chess, I have some good news."
"Hmm, ok, what's the good news?"
"We have Hayley at home."
"Bring her here."
"She's dead here. She's better off at home." Julia told him. "And there's something else I should tell you. About Hayley."
"Like where she's been?"
"Philly. She jumped into the hood with Kev."
"She's been in Philly this whole time?"
"Yes, Chess. She's at home now though. Look, I have to tell you something."
"What?"
"You know how I like pussy, baby."
"You went there?"
"It was kind of right there, Chess. It's a pretty one, baby. I started like drooling it was so pretty. And she is hot and she's got beautiful tits."
"And-"
"Does her pussy count?"
"If I am not there, yeah, I think it should count, Julia."
"How could you be there? And Kevin wouldn't be down for that."
"You weren't with him."
"God, no. I wasn't even with her. I wouldn't let her do anything."
"No more chicks without me."
"You cant have other girls. No."
"Then neither can you."
"But I love pussy, Chess. It was there and it was so pretty and completely shaved and-"
"Uh, yeah. I remember. I had it first."
"And she's really pretty and so soft and she's got these huge boobies that I had to touch. She's very pushy and demanding too."
"I remember. I had her first."
"So I can't eat her again. She tastes good. So-"
"Stop, please. Unless she's in our bed."
"She makes me horny. So you need to take care of me."
"Ok. Only if you tell me all about it while we do it."
"Deal." Julia smiled, pulling him away from the kitchen. "Do you want me to shave like that?"
"Yes." He answered. "I never thought you'd ask."
